Lots of questions in the comment section of the blog. Iwill try to address some of them.
1. Don’t know the answer to the frequency of the live TV briefings. Someone at 33/40 would need to answer that.
2.Moderate Risk. No the SPS did not extend a moderate risk eastward. Instead all of Alabama is included in a slight risk.
3. No, the storms now in the state are not the last chapter. Very strong line of thunderstorms Central and south Mississippi still to come through. We will be under the gun through much of this morning.
4. No specific tornado warnings at this hour. About the south 40% of the state under tornado watches.
5. Flash flooding will be a problem for hours yet.
6. For those asking about sleep, If you have a dependable weather radio, I see no reason to lose all your sleep.
7. Slow rumbling thunder (and fairly loud) is mainly from elevated thunderstorms. (Tuscaloosa/Birmingham and a number of other places having that.
8. I will try toanswer as many questions as I can as the morning goes on, but also very busy updating. Our blog updates will become more frequent as the event continues.
