We have had way too many bad thunderstorms lately and that trend continues this afternoon. The Tornado Watch continues for extreme South Alabama until 7:00 this evening. NWS/Mobile has issued a Flash Flood Warning until 4:45 this afternoon for these counties:
Montgomery
Barbour
Bullock
Pike
This takes in the cities of Montgomery, Eufaula, Clio, Union Springs, Troy, Goshen and Brundidge.
Weather Service radar indicated that flooding was occurring because of thunderstorms over the area. Rain amounts of 2 to 3 inches are expected.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning also continues until 2:45 for parts of Butler, Conecuh, Covington and Crenshaw Counties–all in South/Central Alabama. A line of thunderstorms was moving across those areas.
To our west, another line of showers and storms was diagonal across Mississippi from NE to SW. They, too, are moving east and NE. Not out of the question that we will see some warnings out of those also before the afternoon is over.
