At 308 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Akron, or 10 miles east of Eutaw, moving southeast at 10 mph.
Pea size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
this storm.
Locations impacted include…
Akron, Evansville, Harper Hill and Havana.

Overcast with Showers Today
A shortwave trough continues to move through Alabama today, so showers and a few thunderstorms are possible statewide. Upper-level ridging returns tomorrow and Tuesday, and rain chances dwindle before another storm system moves through Wednesday, bringing more rain and thunderstorms to Alabama. Our dry, benign weather pattern gives way to a more active pattern starting today. An upper-level shortwave moves through Alabama today and tomorrow bringing some rain to the state this weekend. The beginning of next week will be on the drier and quieter side before an upper-level trough pushes a surface low-pressure system through Alabama on Wednesday, bringing more rain and some storms.
