That cold front has entered NW Alabama and temperatures have dropped to the low 60s. Further westward, it was in the mid 40s around Little Rock and upper 30s at Harrison in extreme North Arkansas.

Alabama will feel a distinct change in temperature tomorrow as the colder air continues to spread in. Some areas will see wind gusts as high as 25 to 30 mph with temperatures hanging out in the 50s. Here in Central Alabama, we are still looking for low temperatures of 28 to 30 both Tuesday morning and Wednesday mornings.

THE STORM SITUATION
The Tornado Watch continues for parts of SE Alabama until 1:00 a.m. CDT. At 8:30, storms were lined up from North Baldwin County northeastward to between Monroeville and Evergreen then across South Montgomery County to near the Auburn/Opelika area. The line of storms were moving ENE. The stronger storms were over Butler and Crenshaw Counties.

The National Weather Service in Mobile posted a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Butler and Central Crenshaw Counties until 9:15. Some of those thunderstorms could produce hail the size of pennies and wind gusts over 60 mph. The storms were moving east at 30 mph.

Now about extreme North Alabama. The line of storms near and just in advance of the cold front extended from near Double Springs in Winston County northeast to between Decatur and Huntsville moving quickly eastward. So far, no warnings have been issued. The Storm Prediction Center had thought about posting a Watch for the Tennessee Valley, but so far they have held off.

A CHILL IN THE AIR TOMORROW
If you are cold natured, you may need a sweater or even a light coat tomorrow. NW winds will be gusting as high as 30 mph with temperatures in the 50s. We still expect low temperatures Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning to be as low as 28 to 30.
