A line of diminishing showers late tonight extended all the way from the NE corner of Alabama southwestward to NW of Birmingham. The line of showers was moving eastward with little or no lightning. There is still a weakening trend. From south of Guntersville to near Birmingham, the showers were light to moderate.

Down over SE Alabama, the showers and storms were also diminishing. The strongest storm was along the Pike/Coffee County line between Troy and Elba. Those, too, were moving eastward.

At 10:30 tonight, the cold front extended from between Huntsville and Ft. Payne southwestward to between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. Quite a cool off behind the front. The 10:00 p.m. temperature was 70 in Tuscaloosa and 58 in Haleyville. West of Alabama, it was 48 in Oxford, Mississippi and Memphis and a chilly 39 with a brisk NW wind at Fayetteville, Arkansas home of the University of Arkansas.
