NWS/Birmingham has added several counties to the Tornado Watch that goes until 9:00 tonight. Those additional counties are:
Jefferson
Shelby
Walker
This Tornado Watch covers a much larger area that goes all the way down through West Alabama even into the Mobile area.
An intense line of thunderstorms now moving through West Alabama. In that line, a Tornado Warning was issued for Fayette County until 3:30. Radar continues to indicate a tornado now about 7 miles east of the city of Fayette, near Bankston, and moving east at 35.
Would not be surprised to see a Tornado Warning for Walker County a little later.
Stay tuned.
