A round of isolated thunderstorms has fired up over East Alabama early this morning, and although they are heavy, they are not severe. Storms like this can surprise us sometimes when we have relatively dry air in place down here at the ground. The wind could gust to 30 MPH or higher with these storms, and they could dump a lot of rain in a short time.
Parts of Calhoun, Talladega, Clay, Cleburne, and Randolph Counties stand the best chance of seeing a thunderstorm this morning.
No widespread severe weather is expected, but there could be another batch of isolated showers or t’storms later today in this same area thanks to another disturbance moving in from the northwest.
See you on Good Morning Alabama at 5 AM!
