ORIGINAL TEXT: At 7:40 am, the line of strong thunderstorms was crossing North Blount County. Approaching North Etowah County. Also over Etowah County headed toward Cherokee County.
Storms seem determined to avoid Birmingham but that is not sealed in stone yet.
33/40 Skywatcher at Blountsville said it turned from daylight to dark in only a few minutes as the storms approached.
The storms are overdosed with lightning.
Lightning is not considered for severe thunderstorms. If it was, surely there would have been some warnings this morning based on that alone.
