The Storm Prediction Center is letting the Severe Thunderstorm Watch expire on time at 7:00 p.m.
However, there is a line of strong thunderstorms moving SE through NE Alabama, although they have weakened somewhat. They extend from the NE corner of Cullman County eastward to south of Ft. Payne and into Northern Cherokee County.
There were also some very strong thunderstorms roaming toward the SE through Middle Tennessee. We will watch that as the evening goes on.
SHOULD BIRMINGHAM WORRY?
We believe that most of those stronger storms will pass off to the NE of our area. Even if they did not, we think they will weaken enough to get by without warnings this far south.
