North Alabama is relatively quiet on this Monday morning, but not so down south.
A Tornado Watch continues until 2:00 this afternoon for extreme South Alabama including the counties of Mobile eastward along the southern border to Dothan in the SE corner of the state. Also included is the west part of the Florida Panhandle, coastal counties in Mississippi and extreme SE Louisiana.
NWS continues a Tornado Warning for South Pike County in SE Alabama including Troy and Brundidge until 10:45. The possible tornado was first detected by radar somewhere in a line of storms from Troy to SE of Goshen and moving east at 25.
A Tornado Warning is also in effect for SW Barbour County and South/Central Bullock County until 11:15.
Quite removed from those storms–a cluster of showers and a few thunderstorms is hanging on in East/Central Alabama. Raining rather heavily over the north half of Talladega County, especially from Talladega northward and also over NE Clay County. Other showers extend NE to Cherokee County.
These showers seem to be tired and only moving slowly toward the ENE. At times they seem to redevelop in the same location.
As 10:30 approached, there were no showers over about the NW half of the state all the way from Grove Hill to Clanton, Birmingham and Scottsboro and areas north and west of those areas.
