Well, it seems that way.

At mid-day, a long train of showers and thunderstorms extended from Southeast Oklahoma and Extreme Northeast Texas eastward across South Arkansas, Central Mississippi and finally into Extreme West Alabama. It was raining over almost all of Pickens County and those showers now spreading into Tuscaloosa County.

Little or no lightning in the east part of the lie. The stronger storms and heavier rain was over South Arkansas.

Movement was a bit toward the ESE instead of straight east. That means that most of the rain will pass south of the Birmingham Metro area.

Why those repeated tracks?

A stalled front extends all the way from the Big Bend area of West Texas across Extreme North Louisiana eastward to near Jackson, Meridian, Demopolis, Macon and Myrtle Beach. Most of the showers/storms are using that as an expressway. The front part of the line entering West Alabama is not real strong.
