Showers across Alabama this afternoon are widely spaced and not as numerous as at this time yesterday. For the second day in a row, one of the first ones formed in the Birmingham area.

Not much lightning so far. At 4 pm, these were some of the heavier showers:

* SW corner of Bibb County
* Along the Lamar/Fayette County line in West Alabama
* East edge of Lauderdale County

NWS continues a Significant Weather Alert because of the storm over the SW corner of Bibb County. The alert is for Bibb and Tuscaloosa County for possible winds up to 30, cloud to ground lightning and heavy downpours. Movement was toward the NE.
