Not a great deal of change to our thinking on the weather pattern for the next week as the main topic remains the ridge which is currently located just to our west. The ridge maintains a hold on our weather pattern through mid-week so there is very little chance for any rain.
The ridge flattens a little in response to a trough moving by in the main westerly flow on Thursday. This will allow a weak front to sag into the Tennessee River Valley by Friday which is currently the best looking day for any showers. However, the showers will still be of the scattered, diurnal variety, so no widespread rains in the foreseeable future.
The front and scattered shower potential will remain with us through the weekend. By the Sunday-Monday time frame, the ridge begins to build stronger across the eastern half of the country promising so potentially hot weather for week two along with the standard summer-ish forecast of scattered showers.
So little change over the next 10 to 14 days with highs pretty much dancing in the vicinity of 90 and morning lows around 65 to 70.
Don’t forget to listen to our weekly netcast anytime on the web or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.
And you can follow news and weather updates from ABC 33/40 on Twitter here. And, my personal Twitter feed is here if you want to keep up with the adventures and mis-adventures in my life. Twitter is a short messaging service you can receive via the web, cell phone, or IM.
James Spann is taking the week off, so I plan to post a Weather Xtreme Video each morning by 8 am or a little earlier each day this week. Godspeed.
