I think, just to save time, I’ll copy and paste the discussion from yesterday!! Well, it would save time and the weather pattern and forecast are not changing that much – except in voodoo country! But I won’t.
For the next week it continues to be a matter of forecasting the strength and location of the upper ridge. The upper ridge will dampen a bit Wednesday and Thursday before building back into the Southeast over the weekend – and building back stronger. Without any significant changes and the presence of some moisture, you simply cannot rule out the possibility of shower or two, but coverage should be mighty slim.
Yesterday we saw a few showers develop over eastern Alabama – I even heard thunder as I was leaving Mt. Cheaha just after 1 pm.
While a frontal boundary does sag close to the Tennessee River Valley on Friday and Saturday, the influence should be only enough to increase slightly the chances for scattered showers from about Birmingham northward.
And the ridge remains the storm well out into voodoo country, but the GFS has thrown in an interesting twist around the 23rd of June with a very deep trough and closed low on the east coast of the US. It looks much too strong for June and it is voodoo after all.
