There is a small cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms affecting mainly Montgomery and Elmore Counties. The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for NE Montgomery County until 3:00 p.m.

The thunderstorm, which was capable of producing hail the size of quarters and winds over 60 mph, was located 9 miles NE of Montgomery near the Tallapoosa River Water Plant. It was moving south at 10 mph. It should be near Pike Road by around 2:55.

Otherwise, there were no other showers or thunderstorms around the state. However, others can form this afternoon and the Storm Prediction Center continues a Slight Risk of severe weather for part of East-Central and SE Alabama for the remainder of this afternoon and tonight.
