The weather across Alabama is much, much quieter than it was through much of the morning and early afternoon. There seems to be only one lone thunderstorm across the north half of the state. It is in Tuscaloosa County near Coker and headed for Tuscaloosa. Radar shows a decrease in intensity, but it still has some thunder and lightning.
Meanwhile, all of the storms and heavier rain that tried to homestead through Central Alabama earlier today have moved way down south and the strongest storms were actually down into SW Georgia and part of North Florida.
* At Birmingham Airport, where we had slipped into a slight deficiency for 2009 rain, we were jerked back to reality this morning when the airport received nearly 1.50 inches of rain. So, now we have an excess of over one inch!
