RIDGE HANGS TOUGH: Sure looks like our weather won’t change much through the weekend as the heat ridge remains in place. Afternoon highs in the 92 to 96 degree range with only a tiny risk of any one neighborhood seeing a cooling afternoon thunderstorm. The dewpoints will remain high, and the heat index each afternoon will approach 100. Good ole summertime in Alabama.
NEXT WEEK: The ridge will shift westward a bit, which should allow a few scattered storms around here, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will drop back to around 90 degrees on those days. Unfortunately there continues to be signs of the heat expanding eastward again toward the end of the week; see the Weather Xtreme video for details.
TROPICS: Tropical Depression One-E in the East Pacific will move into the Mexican coast tonight; some of the moisture could work up into the Southwest U.S. late in the weekend. The Atlantic basin remains quiet.

I will be live tonight at 5:00 and 6:00 from the Alabama Sports Festival; not sure if I can crank out an afternoon video, but I will write a discussion here with an updated weekend outlook. Enjoy the day!
