The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Coosa County continues until 5:00 p.m. The main storm was over the western half of the county and moving toward the SSW.

Another small thunderstorm over the east edge of Autauga County triggered a Significant Weather Alert for that area.

Thunderstorms over NE Shelby County have weakened a bit, but are still fairly strong.

THE GREATER BIRMINGHAM AREA
No thunderstorms in Jefferson County at 4:35. Around the rest of North Alabama, there were some widely separated ones, but nothing unusually strong.

Thunderstorms over North Georgia were more numerous, especially over the NW corner of the state. Some of those will move down into NE Alabama.

Apparently the Storm Prediction Center has backed away from issuing a Severe Thunderstorm Watch, at least for now. That could change later. All of the state except the NW edge is in a Slight Risk of severe weather for the remainder of this afternoon and tonight.

The only watch in effect at this time is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch from East Tennessee NE through East Kentucky into West Virginia.
