They are along a frontal boundary that will be sliding southward over the next couple of days.
There are a couple of tornado warnings in western Kentucky and northwestern Tennessee along with a severe thunderstorm watch.
Not to worry. This activity will not affect Central Alabama fireworks tonight. Everything looks good to go for Thunder on the Mountain and all of the other excellent fireworks displays across the area.
Ceilings are above 12,000 feet and radars are clear across the state.
It is becoming more humid, with dewpoints now climbing into the middle and upper 60s.
Those storms will be here tomorrow and some of them could become severe. The initial activity could reach Northwest Alabama around midnight or later.
Be alert for the potential for severe weather tomorrow. High winds will be the main threat.
