* Thanks to David Reimer for relaying information that the temperature actually reached a high of 117 at Alva, Oklahoma yesterday (Friday) That is one degree hotter than the reported national high of 116 in Death Valley. It is also two degrees hotter than the 115 a couple of days ago at Buffalo, Oklahoma, which, at that time, was the hottest in all of Oklahoma in the last 13 years!

* And thanks to Michael Moss for passing along a report of two fishermen from Oklahoma being killed by a tornado at a fishing resort way up in NW Ontario. Another man was missing. Their fishing cabin was actually lifted by the tornado and tossed into the lake.
