It’s quiet across Central Alabama early on this Sunday morning.

The thunderstorm complex that moved out of Northeast Arkansas fell apart this morning as it moved into northern Mississippi. Some strong storms are moving southward through eastern Arkansas at this time.

Upstream from us, there is an isolated storm north of Tupelo that is turning more southward and weakening.

There is a developing storm cell in Lauderdale County, Alabama northwest of Muscle Shoals. It is moving southeast.

An area of storms extends from north of Cookeville in Tennessee to near Winchester just north of the Alabama border then into Jackson and eastern Madision Counties in our state. These storms appear to be associated with a disturbance and are moving eastward. A strong storm was near Columbia, TN.

The SPC has the northwestern quarter of Alabama in a Slight Risk Outlook area. They expect storms to develop on the eastern periphery of the big high to the west and move southeastward. Any organized storms that develop could pose a high wind threat.

More storms could develop later this afternoon across the area.

It will be another day of watching radars.

It looks like we might escape any organized storms for the Southern League All Star events at Rickwood Field this afternoon. That would be great.
