CLOSE TO RECORD LOWS: What a nice weekend ahead for Alabama. Low humidity, cool nights, and sunny days. Models continue to print lows around 60 Sunday and Monday morning; the great American weather legend J.B. Elliott is using 59 in his forecast for both mornings. Valleys will be cooler, of course, with some low to mid 50s possible for places like Valley Head. Highs will be mostly in the mid 80s over the weekend.
NEXT WEEK: We stay dry Monday and Tuesday… we will bring back the chance of an afternoon shower Wednesday, and a few scattered showers and storms will be possible Thursday and Friday. Seems like they will be most numerous over the eastern half of the state where moisture will be deeper.
TROPICAL AND BEACH WEATHER: We see nothing in the Tropics that would even hint that Ana, the first name of the season, was about to be born. There will be improving weather along the Alabama/NW Florida coast as this drier air mass pushes south. There will still be a few thunderstorms Saturday and maybe an isolated one on Sunday, but Monday and Tuesday should be mostly sunshine with lower humidity. Highs will be in the upper 80s even inland.
WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left.
