All last night and all day today a wide band of showesr and thunderstorms have been moving ever so slowly working its way eastward from Arkansas and Oklahoma and all the way from Kansas yesterday.

This afternoon a few showers, well out ahead of the main family, were working their way into West/Central Alabama. At 1:30 p.m., those were located over Pickens and Greene Counties and headed toward Tuscaloosa County. It was a small short line of showers, moderate to heavy, with a bit of lightning involved.

Some lighter showers were forming further eastward from SE Marion County through Central Tuscaloosa County to Bibb and Perry Counties. By far, the heaviest rain was still over Eastern Arkansas, West Tennessee, NW Mississippi and much of Louisiana.

Several Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have been issued in Louisiana, but most of the warnings from the NWS in Memphis and Little Rock ahve been Flash Flood Warnings.

The Storm Prediction Center continues a Slight Risk for this afternoon and tonight from NW Mississippi westward to East Texas. There were no formal watches in effect as of 1:30.
