The line of showers and thunderstorms that slipped into West Central Alabama this afternoon is now much weaker. They extend from just NW of Birmingham (rather weak inthis area) northward to near Moulton and Decatur in the Tennessee Valley.
Heaviest rain (moderate to heavy) was in the north part of the line over Lawrence, Morgan and Limestone County. Almost all the lightning in Alabama was near the Tennessee River.
A new shorter line of storms over East Mississippi was moving NNE toward West Alabama’s Lamar and North Pickens County.
More to the west, the long line of showers and storms all the way down the west side of Mississippi has also weakened considerable. The worst lighting was west and SW of Jackson.
This may or may not be our last update for awhile. We will watch for any redevelopment. Still some heavy-laden clouds over the Birmingham area.
