A powerful complex of thunderstorms is passing Nashville at this hour, racing southeast. A solid area of severe thunderstorm warnings precedes the storms.

They are expected to weaken a bit as they head toward North Alabama later tonight, but I expect they will likely hold together enough to bring severe weather to parts of North and Northeast Alabama overnight.

Severe thunderstorm watches are in effect over Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky and could be extended into North Alabama later.

Additional storms over Southeast Missouri will continue southeast into Arkansas and western Tennessee overnight. More severe thunderstorm watches are in effect here as well. These storms could get into northern Mississippi and Northwest Alabama early tomorrow.

Pay attention to later weather advices as these storms advance southeastward.

More storms are expected later on Wednesday, into early Thursday. Some of them could be strong as welll.
