THIS IS HISTORICAL INFORMATION FROM 1969’S HURRICANE CAMILLE…SCROLL DOWN FOR CURRENT TROPICAL WEATHER INFORMATION.

The 10 a.m. CDT discussion on Hurricane Camille indicated a great deal of uncertainty in the intensity of the storm. They were a little off with their eventual intensity forecast.

“WITH NO INFORMATION FROM THE STORM CENTER INTENSITY IS UNCERTAIN BUT CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE TO MAINTAIN AT LEAST THE INTENSITY OBSERVED YESTERDAY AND POSSIBLY TO PERMIT FURTHER DEEPENING. 950MB CENTRAL PRESSURE WILL PROBABLY PREVAIL AS THE STORM APPROACHES THE COAST.”

Hurricane watches were in effect along the coast and hurricane warnings would be issued soon. They would just be for the wrong section of coast.
