Remember, the thunderstorms we are having this afternoon are “pulse type” which means that can grow strong quickly, only to diminish in a little while. Often another storm will form nearby and take over as the strongest storm.
Bottom line, by the time we get information posted, conditions are already changing.
A nice cluster of storms moved northward into Jefferson County but diminished. The strongest one remaining is near Springville. It got noisy here in NE Trussville for a time but very little rain.
A nice outflow boundry was moving across North and West Jefferson County and Central Tuscaloosa County. This seemed to trigger some heavier thunderstorms over NW Tuscaloosa County and heavy rain was occurring in that area. The heavy rain that was falling over NW Lamar County moved on over into East Mississippi.
A few other strong storms just before 4 o’clock were located:
* Over West Tallapoosa County
* Over North Hale County
* Over West Pickens County
* At several locations over South Alabama
Overall. movement is slowly NW but remember some of the storms will fool around at times and show very little movement.
