A line of strong thunderstorms continues to move east and SE across NW and West Alabama. At 3:10 p.m., the line extended from about Decatur through Western Winston County across SE Marion County into Lamar County near Vernon. Other strong thunderstorms extended south of that into Pickens and Sumter Counties.
Other thunderstorms out ahead of the main line were over Cullman, Blount and North Jefferson County. Showers and thunderstorms were scattered all across South Alabama as well, but that line of storms is the main feature at this time.
It was pouring rain over much of Winston, Marion, Lamar and Fayette Counties.
The NWS/Storm Prediction Center has amended their slight risk area. They now extend it further southward to include about the NW half of Alabama, as far south as roughly the Gadsden, Centreville, Demopolis line. Since the line of storms has already moved through parts of NW Alabama, the NW corner of the state is not included.
The NWS/Huntsville continues a Significant Weather Alert for Lawrence, Limestone and Morgan Counties in NW Alabama until 3:45.
