Showers and storms are scattered across Central Alabama at mid-afternoon.
They are ahead of a cool front that has pushed into Northwest Alabama.
The strongest storms were over Talladega County, extending down into Coosa County.
More strong storms were over Pickens County, extending westward into eastern Mississippi.
All of the activity will continue to push east and east southeastward through the rest of the afternoon.
No real frequent lightning, but heavy rain will definitely be possible under the heavier cells. Jack Watkins reported 1.60 inches of rain in just 45 minutes in north Calera near the Airport. Only 0.21 officially at the Shelby County Airport.
Still thinking that tomorrow will be wet as the front pauses over our area and waits for an upper disturbance to pass by. Rain chances tomorrow will be high.
