Several strong thunderstorms continue. Any of these could produce brief strong winds, dangerous lightning and downpours. They were located in these places:
* 4 miles east of Sterrett in NE Shelby County.
* East Calhoun and West Cleburne County in East Alabama
* North Cullman County moving into South Morgan County. NWS has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning because of that thunderstorm for Morgan County until 5.
* NWS/Huntsville also issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Colbert and Lawrence County until 5
* Madison County. (NWS had a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for a time, now cancelled)
* The strong storm that parked itself over the Ashridge area of NW Winston County a long time is now near where the counties of Colbert, Franklin and Lawrence in NW Alabama join.
* The slow moving storm that was over West Jefferson County has ever so slowly moved ityo SE Walker County near Gorgas.
A reminder…the stronger storms this afternoon are tossing lightning bolts all over the place, so if you see a dark cloud build up over where you are, don’t wait till it starts raining or you hear thunder. Lightning could strike at any time to get the ball rolling.
