Has anyone had any unexplainable headaches lately?
Changes in weather patterns can trigger both sinus and migraine related headaches. Sudden drops in barometric pressure when summer storms pop up can increase the potential to feel aches and pains. Also when pressure changes, the amount of oxygen in the air changes which can overwork blood vessels that are struggling to regulate the amount of oxygen consumed. This too can stimulate headache pain. Humidity, the weather factor that Alabama usually has plenty of, can intensify headache pain. Even the cool breeze of the wind can lead to a throbbing head. Wind can be the key clue in determining a shift in weather patterns. Wind can also carry allergens and pollutants which can result in a sinus headache. Since changes in weather patterns are unavoidable the best way to remain headache free is to stick to your regular routine by staying hydrated on those hot days, don’t go long periods of time without eating, and get a good night’s sleep. Humidifiers and fresh air are good ways to clear the head and sometimes the headache.
