It has been a night of serious flooding in northwestern Shelby, western Jefferson, northeast Jefferson and St. Clair Counties.

And it is not over yet.

A new flash flood warning has been issued for almost all of Jefferson, Shelby and St. Clair Counties now until 12:30 a.m.

Rain has diminished over much of the Birmingham metro, but rain is heavy once again in the Moody area, and that will train up into the flash flood warning area around Margaret, Argo, Branchville and Odenville.

In addition, storms are reforming across Central Shelby County in and around Columbiana. If this rain continues to intensify, it could further exacerbate the flooding situation in eastern Jefferson and St. Clair Counties.

A van is under 5 feet of water at Towhee Road & Old Springville Rd with entrapment, deputy on scene. Center Point Fire on way. Reports are the Old Springville Road is very bad.

LATE REPORT
920 p.m. – major flooding reported in Argo in NE Jefferson County with a almost one foot of water into businesses on Main Street.

Storms have been strong in the Tuscaloosa area. There was a report from a Skywatcher of what might have been a funnel cloud about 30 minutes ago. Not a surprise with these tropical showers.

More rain and storms are forming over Northwest Alabama, where there were flooding problems earlier today.

And heavy rain and storms are along the Alabama/Mississippi border across Choctaw County. This activity should move northwest into eastern Mississippi.
