We still have a big flash flood warning in effect for all of Jefferson, Shelby and St. Clair Counties at this hour.
In the Birmingham area, a large area of moderate to heavy rain with some thunder extended from Homewood to Liberty Park northward to Leeds and southward to Chelsea.
The heaviest activity was southwest of Leeds, moving north northwest toward Lovick and Trussville.
Get ready for more heavy rain and potential flooding.
It looks like the heaviest rain will stay southwest of Argo, but the heavier rain may affect the Center Point area in a little more than an hour.
Thunder is now heard from my location in Trussville, where 3.03 inches of rain has fallen tonight.
J.B.’s house in northeastern Trussville picked up 6.63 inches. John Brown in Argo picked up 5.29 inches.
Moderate rain covers much of Etowah and St. Clair Counties.
In West Alabama, heavy showers and some thunder were over Pickens County. Some heavy cells were on the Mississippi/Alabama line in Sumter County as well.
Northwest Alabama activity has diminished.
