Radar now shows lots of development across the southern two thirds of Alabama, with the heaviest activity over South Central sections of the state.

Showers are beginning to form in the I-20 corridor at this time. Rapidly developing showers were in the Harpersville/Childersburg area. These will move north northwest into the same general areas of eastern Jefferson and western St. Clair that got very heavy rains last night.

Heavier showers extended from southern Sumter through Hale, Perry and Dallas Counties into the Montgomery area. Those will move northward through the afternoon and overnight.

A flash flood watch is in effect for much of Central and Northwest Alabama.

Take the rain gear to the high school games tonight. There is a good chance you will see at least a passing shower. Be alert for the potential for flooding if heavy rain sets up over your area.
