You have probably heard the old, old (real old) saying, “Another Day, Another Dollar.”
Today, instead, it is “Another day, another flash flood threat.”
Storms off to a very early start this Tuesday morning. A cluster over NE Alabama and a slightly larger group over the NW.
At 7 am, the NE storms were over Dekalb County. To the NW, it was pouring rain over North Walker County and NE Fayette County northward to Lawrence County. Those are headed NE toward Cullman and Morgan County.
Not a great deal of lightning yet but that will change as the day goes on.
Major damage from flooding yesterday in a number of Alabama communities. Just two more as an example:
* Town Hall and Valley Head Fire Department damaged because of water flowing through the building.
* Roads washed out in the Mentone area,
NWS has another Flash Flood Watch all day today and this evening for our entire area.
