They were forming early this afternoon over parts of East-Central and South Alabama. At 1 pm, they were located:
Southeast Clay County
North and West Tallapoosa County
Elmore County
Southeast Autauga County
The upper air profile over Alabama today favors a movement toward the SE and that is what is happening so far.
Other storms will develop as the afternoon progresses. Some will be strong. Probably the focus for the most active storms will be across the middle of Alabama but that does not rule out the other areas.
Can’t be absolutely sure where some of those old outflow boundaries from Sunday slept last night.
Summer forecasting in Alabama can be un-fun at times.
Or perplexing.
I can think of a lot of other adjectives…
Will be a long haul before my favorite, ideal, most comfortable high low temperatures of 66/36 return.
Woe is me…
