That long zone of showers and thunderstorms continues very early on this Wednesday morning all the way from the NE corner of Texas east across South Arkansas, Central Mississippi, North Central Alabama into North Georgia.

The booming, rolling thunder has undoubtedly awoke thousands of people a lot earlier than they wanted. Hundreds of pots of coffee were brewed hours earlier than usual. Thousands of dogs will sleep today to catch up. They may be a bit cranky at times.

At 5:20 am, the heaviest rain in Alabama was across Talladega and North Clay County to near Anniston in East Alabama. Another cluster of showers/storms, with locally heavy rain was over East Mississippi moving generally toward West Alabama’s Pickens County.

Showers and storms over Extreme North Alabama diminished greatly. Not many still in progress from about Cullman northward

I have lost contact with the ABC 33/30 Skywatchers IM conference.
