Showers continue scattered across the north half of Alabama at mid-morning. They are nowhere near as numerous and as heavy as the ones we saw btween midnight and daybreak.
At 9:30 am, the heavier showers extended from Elmore County east to Chambers County. There was also a heavy shower over SW Cullman County.
Everything marching eastward.
Lots of thunderstorms overnight, very noisy ones causing thousands of people to be jolted awake.
There was noformal Severe Thunderstorm Watch during the night. Lots of lightning and window-shaking thunder is not considered in the mix for a watch or warning.
All watches are issued by the Storm Prediction Center in Norman and all warnings by local NWS offices. The SPC usually does not consider a watch if they think there will only be a few isolated warnings.
