That line of showers and thunderstorms continues across Central Alabama at mid-afternoon.

At 3:00 p.m. they were located from south of Tuscaloosa eastward across Bibb, North Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa and Chambers Counties. There is a lot of lightning indicated in these storms especially in the central part of the line.

While the individual storms were moving east, the overall line of storms is sinking toward the south and SE. Other showers, not as heavy, were scattered across Walker and Jefferson Counties.

Ronald Hughes, the 33/40 Skywatcher for Coker in West Tuscaloosa County, reports 1.25 inches of rain from these storms.

The NWS/Birmingham has posted an Aerial Flood Advisory for East/Central Chilton County, Coosa County in East/Central Alabama until 4:30. This includes places like Rockford, Goodwater, Kelliton and others. This is a Small Stream Advisory which is short of a Flash Flood Warning. Radar indicated that over an inch of rain has already fallen in those areas and 1/2 to 1 inch of additional rain is possible in the next hour.
