At 1:45 p.m., the Lamar County EMA Office reported flash flooding in Lamar County with 2 feet of standing water now on Highway 18 south of Vernon. Highway 18 runs from Vernon eastward to Crossville and eventually to Fayette.

OTHER LATE NOTES
Getting very dark at Molly’s house in NE Trussville. A thunderstorm is forming along the Jefferson/St. Clair County line SE of Trussville and moving NE. Radar shows extremely heavy rain now advancing across Marion County toward Hamilton and continuing over North Lamar County and moving into Fayette County. Fayette should get some good amounts in a few minutes. Further south, very heavy rain was moving out of Sumter County into Greene County and advancing toward Hale County.
