At mid-morning, there was a moderate to heavy shower near Springville in the west edge of St. Clair County and over SE Blount County moving eastward into St. Clair County.

However, the main rain area extended from West Jefferson, across Tuscaloosa, Pickens, Greene and North Hale County in West Central Alabama. This fairly large rain area was moving ESE. The heaviest rain was passing north of Meridian. This will cross the Mississippi-Alabama border into West Alabama’s Sumter County.

RAINFALL AMOUNTS
You may not want to wade through all of these, but I think most folks are still very interested in rain amounts because of our on-going drought. We caution that some of these amounts are for the full last 24 hours, while some others are just since midnight and some were yesterday’s totals. We will not try to sort them out–we are as happy as a little kid in a candy store to report them.
NOTE: We may add additional reports as the morning goes on. Those add-ons will be at the end of the list.

AN UNBELIEVABLE WILDFIRE
It is still underway in Central Utah and only 10% contained. This huge fire has now burned 514 square miles–by far the largest Utah wildfire in history.
