***We still expect a severe weather event tonight in Alabama.****
This is not the main event of severe weather…that is expected later this evening and tonight. Please scroll down for an update on the current weather from JB, and in-depth severe weather analysis for tonight by James Spann and me.

Right now, rain and thunderstorms are moving out ahead of the warm front moving our way, and the strong wind shear and thermal boundary are allowing gravity waves to form, concentrating the rain into intense bands, associated with winds of 30 to 40 mph. Please be careful driving home today, as some of these winds could bring down a few trees, and the heavy rain and wind make it nearly impossible to see at times. Luckily, the hevaiest rain should be out of most of BHM by 500-530 pm.
