Before the waking hour on this Friday morning, it was raining in all corners of Alabama and some of the rain was heavy.
Credit that to a low pressure area in the Gulf of Mexico that has become better organized during the night. The low was centered just before daybreak over the North Central Gulf south of the Mississippi-Alabama Coast. It will move NE spreading bad weather over a wide area.
Rain was heavy over much of South Central Alabama. Also an area of moderate to heavy rain more to the north across Pickens, Fayette, Walker, Cullman and Blount County. The rain continues to spread north.
NWS has a Wind Advisory until at least 2 pm today as east winds will gust as high as 30 mph at times. A Flash Flood Watch also for a number of counties.
Just before daybreak, temperatures were near 40 over much of North Alabama and mid to upper 40s over most of the South. Even some upper 30s East Alabama making the rain and cold more pronounced.
