Nothing going on around Alabama at 9:20 tonight, so this will probably our last update.

Unless, of course, something unexpected happens.

A line of strong thunderstorms across South Kentucky was about to cross over into North Tennessee.

This will become part of our Alabama weather story tomorrow. We will probably do a lot of blog updates Friday.

A FEW BEDTIME NOTES

* 116 in Death Valley was the national high Thursday.

* 102 in Salt lake City and they expect 102 again Friday and Saturday.

* Salt lake has received only 5.28 inches of rain so far this year, a little over 1/2 of normal.

* New England and the Northeast USA continues to overdose on rain. Totals today:

1.79 inches in Buffalo
1.28 Watertown, N.Y
1.69 Saranac Lake, N.Y.
