It has turned much colder tonight across Alabama following a mix of light rain, sleet and snow during the day Thursday and Thursday evening. The sudden change to much colder created serious icing conditions on streets and highways in a number of counties in North and Central Alabama. (Scroll down to see earlier posts by James detailing these problems.) There won’t be enough time for improvement before morning rush hour, so extra time should be allowed.
