Interesting array of storms around the greater Birmingham area late this afternoon. The earlier storm, that prompted the warning for East-Central Jefferson County, decided to take a turn and go SE. It is now crossing the Jefferson/Shelby County line into NE Shelby County.
Meanwhile, a new smaller storm, but with lightning, formed near Double Oak Mountain and it was moving NE and may meet the other storms.
Still another one formed west of downtown Birmingham and was crossing I-20/59.
The storm in Blount County, that triggered a Significant Weather Alert, is beginning to break apart.
The ABC 33/40 skywatcher for Greystone reported heavy rain with vivid lightning at 4:38 p.m.
