An outflow boundry from Central Alabama thunderstorms has been advancing northward for about two hours.
At 7 o’clock, the boundry extended from Oak Grove to Gardendale to Trussville and to near Anniston.
It triggered new thunderstorms. One began in NE Trussville just before 7
There is also some heavy rain in the developing thunderstorm along the Jefferson-St. Clair County line from east of Trussville to Margaret and Branchville.
Storms moving NE.
Other storms were near downtown Birmingham.
When the outflow boundry moved across the Birmingham area, undoubtedly the “heat island” effect helped trigger these new storms.
Mostly quiet now over Shelby and Chilton County. Jemison received 1.61 inches of rain this afternoon bringing the total since yesterday to 2.06 inches.
