The official Bimingham temperature has not been to 70 or higher since last year–last November 16 to be exact, when it reached 71.
Until a few minutes ago, that is.
At noon today, it was officially 70 at Birmingham Airport–the first 70 of the new year.
I thought I heard thousands of cheers from all over town. Probably my imagination.
With our 6th coldest winter of all time, we did struggle to reach 67 on December 2 and December 14 but no 70 in those two months.
We had 69 on January 21 and again a month later on February 21–but still not 70.
It appeared that a barrier was in place. In most winters we do have a few 70+ temperatures sprinkled throughout, but not this time.
Getting a bit too warm for me but I am happy for everyone else.
Come on October!!!
