Our MCV is moving into Sumter County at this hour with a trailing line of severe storms through Choctaw County into Clarke and Wayne Counties in eastern Mississippi.
Several tornado warnings are in effect as you can see from the polygons that are red.
There are also severe thunderstorm warnings as well ahead of the system, shown in orange. Marengo County just got a severe thunderstorm warning that is in effect until 6 pm.
We are very concerned for areas along I-59/20 in Sumter County near the comma head of the MCV. This feature has a history of producing damaging winds and has a higher potential of producing a tornado.
Be in a safe place as these dangerous storms approach. They have winds to 70 mph and the potential to produce tornadoes.
