An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

A CHANCE TO DRY OUT: The sun has indeed returned to Alabama this afternoon after a cloudy start, and temperatures are in the 60s statewide at 3:00. This is the first of a number of dry days ahead.

REST OF THE WEEK: Expect sunny days and clear nights through Friday, and as an upper ridge builds across the Deep South, we are projecting highs in the low 80s by Thursday and Friday. The GFS is printing 81 Thursday, and 83 on Friday. The last time we were in the 80s was back on October 29 of last year, when the high was 81 degrees.

EASTER WEEKEND: Watch the Weather Xtreme video, and you will see we will still need to mention a chance of showers and storms Saturday night, but the 12Z GFS hints that Saturday will be dry and warm, and much of Easter Sunday will be dry, with the main window for rain coming from about 11:00 p.m. Saturday through 6:00 a.m. Sunday. And, the main dynamics lift far north of Alabama, meaning generally light rain amounts. And, severe weather for now does not seem to be a serious possibility.

NEXT WEEK: Dry and warm weather is the story early next week, but we are seeing signs of a possible cold snap in the April 8-11 time frame. Check out the video for more details.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left. We will record this week’s new episode tomorrow night.
